Marion Gale Holloway

July 1, 1936 ~ January 11, 2021


Marion Holloway, 84 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 in Woodward. Private immediate family services will be held at the Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Woodward on Thursday from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home

Marion Gale Holloway was the 3rd son of Lawrence Lonnie and Mary Etta (Miller) Holloway. He was born July 1, 1936, at home, on a farm west of Cedardale, Oklahoma. He went to school at Oak Grove and Pearl Valley and started the 6th grade in Mooreland, graduating in 1954. He was called to the United States Army in 1955. He had training in Fort. Chaffie, Arkansas and Fort Riley, Kansas. Marion was a switchboard and radio operator. He served his country for two years and was honorably discharged in 1957. In 1956, he was married to Meryl Gardner. Four children were born, Michael Lewis, Marian Gail, Marilyn Kay and Shannon Michelle. After serving in the service, Marion went to work in the oil field business, working in Oklahoma and Louisiana, running heavy equipment

On February 14, 1971, Marion was united in marriage to Maebeth (Morris) Roedell. They lived on a farm north of Mooreland. Marion retired in 1998. Marion loved fishing, playing cards, and dominoes.

He is survived by his children: Mike Holloway and wife Denise, Molly Lockwood, Katy Wanger and husband Donald, Michelle Farrow and husband Devin; grandchildren: Mason Holloway, Magon and Kevin Lauchland, Kaleb Lockwood, Gardner and Tabetha Lockwood, Kaden and Mikayla Wanger, Daytin and Diana Farrow, Braydin and Rachel Farrow; great-grandchildren: Kason, Kessler and Maris Lauchland, Finley and Addisyn Lockwood, Kyler Wanger, Kai and Hannah Farrow, Braylee, Crue, and Kannon Farrow; step-children: Tommy Roedell and wife Terry, Connie Roedell, Brenda Jones, Deanna Batchelor; step-grandchildren: Tracy and Wes Miller, Tonya and Art Rogers, Dustin and Carly Galmor, Tiffany and Kevin Maddox, Katrina and Shawn McDowell, Jeremy Irvin, Ciara and Sam Frenette, Ryan Batchelor; step great-grandchildren: Kobie Howell, Kamryn McDowell, Alexis Irvin, Megan Irvin; step great-great-grandchild, Ivy Howell; sister, Flossie Arthaud; sister-in-law, Helen Holloway; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maebeth Holloway, two brothers Bill Holloway, and his wife Ruth, Cecil Holloway, brother-in-law, Curly Arthaud and son-in-law Craig Lockwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
