Larene (Janzen) Geerdes Loomis Springer was born on May 23, 1925 in a sod house northeast of Woodward, Oklahoma to Frank and Delia (Devous) Janzen. She and her brother Elmer walked three miles to the Mountain View Country School each day. The school was a one room schoolhouse that taught the children thru the 8th grade. They wanted to go to high school in Freedom because Larene wanted to be a teacher but they were unable to because they had to help on the family farm. Larene was united in marriage to Harley Geerdes on September 22, 1944 in Woodward. They were blessed with two children, Terry and Peggy.

Larene was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was a life time member of the Rebecca Lodge and served as Noble Grand. Larene delivered meals on wheels to families in need and also was very involved with the Woodward Senior Citizens Center. She loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by one son, Terry Geerdes and wife Sharon of Bixby; three grandchildren, Phillip Sean Endersby of Woodward, Christopher Geerdes of Marina Del Ray, California, Trevor Geerdes and wife Sonia of Pacifica, California; three great-grandchildren, Steve Endersby, Niki Endersby, and Tora Geerdes; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Peggy Endersby, her three husbands, Harley Geerdes, Charles Loomis and George Springer.
