Cindy Jo Smith Fields

Cindy Fields, 63 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 23, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland with Reverend Micah Welcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Cindy Jo (Smith) Fields was born on November 8, 1958 in Astoria, Oregon to Harold Yount and JoAnn (Neu) Smith. The family lived in Astoria, Oregon for a short period of time before moving to Higgins, Texas and Mooreland, Oklahoma. Cindy attended Mooreland schools and graduated from Mooreland High School. She attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University with her Associates degree. Cindy was united in marriage to Joe Alan Fields on August 19, 1977 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. They were blessed with one daughter Allison. The family made their first home in Stillwater before moving back to Mooreland where they remained. Cindy worked at various places including, Irwin Chevrolet, Robinson Brothers Drilling, Duke Halley Law Office, John Meinders Law Office and the USDA-FSA office. She worked as a Program Technician for the USDA until her retirement.

Cindy's best job in life was being the best mother and loving wife possible. Her greatest joy was her daughter Allison and following her through her high school sports and college softball. Cindy enjoyed every holiday by decorating and baking for each one. Her blarney stones, popcorn balls and chocolate sheet cakes were enjoyed by many. She made everyone feel special by baking for their birthdays. Making memories with her family was her favorite thing to do and her smile would light up a room and she always made everyone feel loved.

She enjoyed serving her community through the Mooreland Alumni Association by helping plan each years activities and serving as treasurer for over 40 years. Cindy was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she planned many wedding and baby showers.

She is survived by her mother JoAnn Detrixhe of Woodward; her loving husband of 45 years, Joe Fields of the home; one daughter Allison Fields of Oklahoma City; one brother Ira Smith and wife Cathy of Mooreland; one sister Debra Rounds and husband Kenny of Leedey; mother-in-law Syvilla Fields of Mooreland; sisters-in-law Judy McGoon and husband Richard of Woodward; Teresa Fields of Mooreland; brother-in-law Ronnie Fields and wife Letha of Mooreland; other relatives and many friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Harold Yount Smith, father-in-law, Billy Fields and brother-in-law, Lowell Fields.

Memorial contributions may be made the Mooreland First United Methodist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
