March 4, 1940 ~ January 24, 2021

SFC Gerald L Dauphin, 80 passed away peacefully on January 24, 2021. Jerry was a decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He earned several medals, including the Bronze Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm, Good Conduct Metal, Army Commendation Metal w/ oak Leaf Cluster and various unit awards. Jerry spent 14 years in active duty from 1965-1979. His last duty assignment was with Co C 6/32 Arm HQ FORSCOM FC.

Gerald was born on March 4, 1940 in Quinlan, Oklahoma to his parents Mary Evelyn and Chester Cornelius Dauphin. He graduated from Mooreland High School in 1958. He married the love of his life Katherine Ann Conaughty in 1974 . After moving to Beaver, Oklahoma, Jerry began working for Howard Drilling and retired from Howard Drilling in 2012 . The couple welcomed 7 children and stepchildren and many grandchildren into their home and Jerry set about teaching them to enjoy the great outdoors. He enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren to rodeos and fishing. After retiring he and Kay moved back to Mooreland, OK so he could spend more time with his brothers and sisters and family. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Jerry was a generous, witty, and dedicated individual who loved hunting, fishing, growing his own vegetable garden and who was passionate about spending time with his family. He was an active and dedicated member of the Disabled Veterans Association and the Oklahoma American Legion Post 0019.

Gerald L. Dauphin was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Kay, on June 30, 2015 ; one son, Kelly Joe Dauphin, on February 19, 2017 ; two brothers, infant brother, November 17, 1936 and Dale Dauphin, on July 3, 2002; one son-in-law, Mark Wilkerson, on August 27, 2018.

He is survived by two sons, Tracy Chockley-Dauphin of Kenai, Alaska and Corbet Dauphin and wife Patricia of El Paso, Texas; two daughters , Twila Wilkerson of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Tina Backen and fiance TC Snyder of Wellsville, Kansas; two step-daughters , Jackie Hall of Fort Collins, Colorado and Vanessa Friday of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers Dean Dauphin of Mooreland, Oklahoma and Monte Dauphin of Mooreland, Oklahoma; two sisters Lynda Munsell of Mooreland, Oklahoma and Mary Weder of Mooreland, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Timbre Backen, Codi Backen, Damian Dauphin, Autumn Gauthier- Gudewich, Eric Gauthier and Alana Gauthier ; his fur-babies Ben2 and Biscuit; several nephews, nieces and many friends.

May all of you stay healthy, so we may we come together in the future to properly celebrate Jerry's life at a time when it is safe for all of us to gather.
