Albert Earl Bouse

Albert Bouse, 90 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Mooreland First United Methodist Church with Reverend Micah Welcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Albert Earl Bouse was born on September 20, 1932 to Andrew Franklin Bouse and Elizabeth Grace (Gasswint) Bouse at the farm house in Major County, Oklahoma. He attended Bethel Grade School and graduated from Cheyenne Valley High School in 1950. He attended college at Oklahoma A&M until he was drafted into the Army. There he served in the Korean War as a helicopter mechanic until he was honorably discharged in 1953. After his service, he attended Northwestern State College, where he earned a Masters of Teaching degree in 1966. He was united in marriage to Judith Ellen (Ewing) Bouse on January 18, 1963 at the First United Methodist Church in Enid, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Cheyenne Valley before moving to Mooreland in 1969. To this union three children were born. Bartlett Andrew in June of 1968, Brian Albert in August of 1969 and Chesney Lynette in January of 1972.

Albert was a man of many talents and worked a variety of careers over his life. These included: Chemistry and Physics teacher for 10 years, girls basketball coach at Waynoka, earning a spot at the state tournament, he sold Mormon's Feed, where he was top salesman in Oklahoma for several years, was a member of the Mooreland school board, serving as President for several years, he was a member of the Woodward County Excise Board for 10 years, he worked as a switchman on the Santa Fe Railroad, and he was a lifelong farmer and rancher in Major and Woodward Counties.

Albert has been a member of Mooreland First United Methodist Church since 1969.

Albert loved hunting coyotes with his greyhounds, fishing, and turkey and rattlesnake hunting with his friends and family.

Albert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy, his three children and their spouses, Bart and his wife Angie, Brian, and Chesney and her husband Greg, 7 grandchildren, Tyler Whetstone, Joshua Bouse, Jillian Bouse, Jacob Bouse, Brooklyn Whetstone, Ella Bouse and Tajon Whetstone, 3 sisters, Clara Newton, Imogene Reames and Violet Olmstead. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Bouse.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to First United Methodist Church in Mooreland, Oklahoma with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
