Woodward, Okla. — Arvid Anderson, 68 year old Mooreland resident, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland with the Reverend Marvin Hudson officiating. Interment will be in the Mooreland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home, Mooreland.

Arvid Brian Anderson was born on September 5, 1943 in Superior, Wisconsin to Andrew and Bertha Janet (Johnson) Anderson. He was reared in Patzau, Wisconsin and attended school there. Arvid was united in marriage to Judy Howenstine on September 15, 1962 in Duluth, Minnesota. They were blessed with two children, Kim and Scott. They made their home in Patzau and Arvid worked at the Frazier Shipyard as an Electrician. In 1974, the family moved north of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Arvid worked as a truck driver, hauling grain to various places. It was after hauling grain to Ardmore that he fell in love with Oklahoma. In 1978 the family moved to Mooreland and they have lived there since that time. Arvid worked for the Woodward County Landfill before going to work for Harper Sanitation. He continued working there until his retirement in the mid 2000's.

Arvid attended the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland. He was always doing odd jobs for other people. He enjoyed four-wheelin, motorcycles, poetry and was always tinkering in his shop. Arvid loved his family very much and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Judy Anderson of the home; one daughter Kim Greer of Mooreland; one son, Scott Anderson and wife Amy of Mooreland; five grandchildren, Mike, Austin, Tyler, Marissa and Katie; sisters-in-law, RaeAnn Anderson of Patzau, Wisconsin, Cathy Carlson and husband Brad of Iron River, Wisconsin, Jan Jamison and husband Carl of Poplar, Wisconsin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Beverly Conklin and one brother Norman "Punky" Anderson.
