BERNICE M. AMES

1 Dec 1909 - 6 Aug 1998

Mooreland – The funeral for Bernice Ames, 88, will be 2:30 PM Sunday in Mooreland First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery under direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

She was born December 1, 1909, in Moscow Flats to William A. and Alta May Bryan Nelson and died Thursday, August 6, 1998, in the Mooreland Golden Age Nursing Home.

She attended school through the eighth grade at Moscow Flats. She married Frank B. Ames on February 19, 1928, and they made their home on a farm north of Mooreland until they retired and moved into Mooreland in 1965. She moved into the Mooreland Golden Age Home in 1991.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mooreland.

She is survived by two daughters, Eileen Moynihan of Woodward, LaNita Bridgeman of Rye, Colorado; three sons, J. Alan Ames, Byron Ames, both of Mooreland, Douglas Ames of Gage; 19 grandchildren; 22 great – grandchildren; and three great – great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers, two sisters, one son and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
