The Curtis Courier
21 May 1908

Lucy Alexander the eight year old daughter of Mr and Mrs J. E. Alexander, died at her home Friday evening about 10 o’clock of sicatic rheumatism and other complications. She took sick Monday evening and grew worse until death relieved her of terrible suffering. She was unconscious from Thursday. the little body was buried in the Mooreland cemetery, Saturday evening. She leaves a father, mother, two sisters and three brothers besides numerous little schoolmates, and will be greatly missed by all.
Weep not that her toils are over,
Weep not that her race is run:
God grant that we may rest as calmly,
When our work like her’s is done.
Till then we yield with gladness, Our little friend to Him to keep.
And rejoice in the sweet assurance,
He gaveth His loved one sleep.
