Lois Hunter, 78 year old Fort Supply resident, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday February 12, 2026 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Todd White officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Fort Supply.
Lois Marie (Murray) Hunter was born on December 16, 1947 at the Woodward Hospital in Woodward, Oklahoma to Samuel Warren and Melva Lucille (Wingo) Murray. Lois grew up on the family farm in Fort Supply. She attended Fort Supply Schools and graduated from Fort Supply High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Dale Hunter on September 8, 1967 in Canadian, Texas.
She worked for the Department of Human Services for over 40 years as a Social Services Worker. Lois enjoyed crafting, sewing, yard work, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Hunter of Fort Supply; four sons: David Nickel and wife Kathy of Florida, Warren Hunter and wife Kristi of Fort Supply, Tod Hunter and wife Kerri of Brighton, Colorado, Kevin Hunter and wife Tonya of Fort Supply; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Arlene Lawler, Sam Murray, Jr, and Joanna Fewin.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart or Diabetes research with the funeral home accepting contributions.
