Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 3, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Todd White officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery west of Fort Supply.

Lawrence Earl Golden was born on March 20, 1943 in Woodward, Oklahoma; he was the son of Samuel L. and Elona L. (Williams) Golden. He attended Fort Supply schools and graduated from Fort Supply High School in 1961. Lawrence then attended OSU Technical Institute where he received an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement. Lawrence worked in retail sales, and also as an Oklahoma City Police Officer, first as a Patrolman then as a K-9 officer, a career he loved until he lost his canine dog Kobie. Later he worked as a Private Investigator and as a Petroleum Landman for various companies. Lawrence and Karen returned to Fort Supply to be closer to family.

Lawrence always loved animals. Earlier he raised and trained dogs and bred race horses, and more recently his interest became raising all breeds of chickens. He had many hobbies and interests, including computer building. He was a special, unique person who was rarely bored because he was constantly exploring new interests, either by reading books or doing computer searches.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Karen of the home; two brothers, Johnny Golden and wife Dolores of Broken Arrow; David Golden and wife Tege of Yukon; one uncle, Loyd Golden of Woodward; several nieces, nephews and many friends and acquaintances.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife’s parents.
