January 7, 1938 - January 30, 2018

Doris Umber, 80 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at the St. Peter Catholic Church with Reverend Joe Arledge presiding. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Doris May Umber was born January 7, 1938 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Joseph and Lucy (Aristide) Urabazo. Doris grew up in Anadarko and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Anadarko. She was united in marriage to Bill Umber on February 9, 1958 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Anadarko for a year before moving to Vici and then settling in Woodward. They moved out to the country in 1971. Bill and Doris started the B&D Country Store in 1978 and ran the store together. They raised their five kids in the country, before moving back to Woodward in 1987.

She was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church. Doris was a full time wife and mother to her kids. Her life was centered around her husband and family. She loved her grandchildren so very much.

She is survived by her husband Bill Umber of the home; three sons: Denver Umber and wife Stacie of Houston, Texas, Danny Umber and wife Susan of Yukon, Larry Umber and wife Shannon of Norman; two daughters, Michele Crocker and husband Brent of Farmington, Missouri, Theresa Kropf and husband Bill of Woodward; one brother, Billy Urabazo and wife Wanda of Lawton; two sisters, Virginia Tennison of San Antonio, Texas, Ann Rogers and husband Paul of Bethany; eight grandchildren: Bryce Kropf, Lauren Crocker, Jordan Umber, Becca Willitzer, Melissa Willitzer, Kylee Gould, Morgan Crocker, Megan Kluempers; one great-grandchild, Ryker Briggs; many special nieces and nephews; lifelong dearest friends, Rosie and Duane Frech; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lucy Urabazo, brothers, Raymond Urabazo, Bobby Urabazo, sister-in-law, Ann Urabazo, and brother-in-law, Dick Tennison.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter Altar Society with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
