Donald Wayne Sissons was born on April 30, 1939 in Meeker, Oklahoma to William and Mossie Iona (Gilliam) Sissons. He grew up on the family farm near Rossville, Oklahoma and graduated from Meeker High School. He was united in marriage to Lee Anne Dunshee in October of 1961. They made their home in Woodward. I thought only rich people were able to go to college. Now that I look back there were probably things that I might have done differently; but had I not moved to Woodward and went to work in the oil field, I wouldn’t have the three wonderful children and the three grandchildren that I have”.

He was involved in FFA while in high school and he loved watching the Oklahoma Sooners and the New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed gardening and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years Fran Sissons; two sons: Wayne Sissons and wife Ronda, Eric Sissons; one daughter Rebecca Anthony and husband Ben; three grandchildren: Rachel Anthony, Jacob Anthony, Veronica Sissons; three brothers: James Sissons, Franklin Sissons and wife Kathy, Leonard Sissons and wife Lucinda; three sisters: Stella Moser, Edith Huckaby and husband Lee, Loretta Wanter and husband Marion; other relatives and friends.
