Lanette Rutherford, 83 year old Woodward resident, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at her home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2025 at the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Donnetta Hunter and Reverend Brad Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Lanette D. (Green) Rutherford was born on July 13, 1941 in Duke, Oklahoma to James Franklin Green and Oma (Waggoner) Stinson. Lanette attended school in Duke until the family moved to Fairfield, California when she was 12 years of age. She graduated from Crockett High School in California.
She was united in marriage to Harvey Rutherford on June 27, 2009 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They have made their home in Woodward since that time. Lanette enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, painting, and jewelry making. She loved making candy and she handed out peanut brittle to all of her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Harvey Rutherford of the home; one son Tom Clark and wife Sherri; step-children: Brenda Harris, Aaron Rutherford and wife Linda, Kim Barnett and husband Shaun; grandchildren: Geret Clark and wife Tara, Rauchell Clark, Eric Slape, Ryan Slape and wife Audra; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren: Kamber Clark and Eva Slape; eight step great-grandchildren; one sister Ronette McHam; other relatives and many friends.
Lanette was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Paula Slape, son-in-law, Mike Slape, four brothers, and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer's research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
