Norma Jean Miller Rice

June 27, 1948 ~ May 17, 2020

Norma Jean Miller Rice passed from this life on May 17, 2020 at Edmond, OK. at the age of 71. She was born at Taloga, OK. on June 27, 1948, one of six children born to Groff and Irene Downey Miller. Norma attended grade school and graduated from high school at Taloga, OK. and was united in marriage to Ted Rice, the love of her life, on June 16, 1966. They made their home in Woodward, OK. where they raised their children, Connie Jo, Courtney Beth, Johnny and Debby.

Along with being a wife and mother, Norma worked at various jobs outside the home. Over the years she served as the head cook at the Fargo, OK. Public Schools, dietician and cook at the Juvenile Detention Center in Woodward, OK., serving hundreds of meals to children with a smile everyday. She was the secretary at John Bruce Electric in Woodward, OK. and she owned Skyview Unlimited Satellite Sales. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fargo, OK.

Norma enjoyed gardening, fishing and cooking, she made a mean chocolate sheet cake! Her hobbies included playing cards and slot machines and scratchers. She was always ready for a visit with her friends and ready to go watch her grandkids in their activities. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She loved her family, was a hard worker and a friend to many.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Groff and Irene, her husband, Ted and her siblings, Jewel, Dutch, Irvin and Danny.

She is survived by her children, Connie Jo Wilcox and husband Michael, Courtney Beth Wall and husband Jesse, Johnny Rice and Debby Privett. Her grandchildren, Landry and Gentry Wilcox, Grady and Gavin Wall, Cody and Kyle Rice, Ashley Kostura and Joeseph Privett. Her brother Curtis Miller, her lifelong friends she considered family, Gerry and Paula Wells, her nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
