Barbara Ann Roy Pickering

December 4, 1920 ~ August 11, 2007

The funeral for Barbara Ann Roy Pickering, 86, of Woodward, will be 2 PM today at Billings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Clyde Irving will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward.

She was born December 4, 1920, in Lenora to Adam Lewis and Teresa Tesmer Roy and died Saturday, August 11, 2007, at Vici nursing home.

She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Richmond school in the late 1930s. She attended nursing school and became a nurse.

She married Paul Elvin Pickering August 24, 1942, in Woodward. They lived several places while he served in the Army before settling in Woodward, where she worked at Woodward hospital. She also worked as a dental assistant for doctors Carmichael and Bensen before retiring to help her husband with the farm.

Surviving are her husband, Paul; one brother, Ted Roy of Oklahoma City, and one sister, Bertha Ladd.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.
