Delmer Glenn Miller Delmer G. Miller, 75 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, March 14, 2008 in Enid. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Dick McFarlin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Delmer Glenn Miller was born December 14, 1932 north of Mooreland on the family farm; he was the son of Charley Scott and Clara Mae (Burkhart) Miller. He was raised in the Mooreland area and graduated from Mooreland High School in 1951. On June 2, 1953, Delmer was married to Norma June Lehman in San Antonio. They made their home in Ft. Hood and San Antonio since Delmer was an MP in the U. S. Army stationed at Ft. Hood from 1953 until 1955. He worked for his father-in-law at Oscar's East Main Market for a short time. He worked at Cowden's Jean Factory for awhile and also worked for the Woodward and Mooreland Co-op for 32 years delivering propane. Delmer had to retire at 59 because of health problems. In 1999 he started working for his son at Miller Equipment and Woodward Steel, working there until his death.

Delmer loved going to the mountains to his son's cabin. He loved fishing, walking and hiking. When he was young, he could jump up on a picnic table flat footed. He loved playing dominoes and cards and was very good at it. Delmer loved going to work and answering the phone at WW Steel. He loved his daily coffee break with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He never said a bad word about anyone. Delmer will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Loren Miller, one sister Bonnie Davidson and one niece Tonya Miller.

Delmer is survived by wife, Norma of the home; two sons, Jackie Miller and wife Leslie; Terry Miller all of Woodward; two grandsons, Jaron Miller and fiancee Randi Malone; Joshua Miller and wife Leslie and one very special great granddaughter, Maci Miller all of Woodward; four sisters, Maxine Dillinger and husband Carl of Enid; Ruby Ricks of Washington, Indiana; Lois Roedell of Sand Springs; Verda Gantz of Mooreland; sister-in-law, Idabelle Schnoebelen of Mooreland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital with the funeral home accepting the memorials.

Norma June Miller, 74 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Enid. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Monica Hall officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Norma June (Lehman) Miller was born on June 22, 1935 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Oscar and Ola (Fike) Lehman. Norma was reared in Woodward and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Delmer Glenn Miller on June 2, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas. They made their first home at Fort Hood because Delmer was an MP in the United States Army. While living in Texas, Norma worked at the Woolworth’s Drug Store. The family moved back to Woodward in 1955 and Norma stayed home and took care of her boys. After her children were grown, Norma cleaned houses, often surprising family members with clean houses when they came home from work or vacations. She volunteered at the nursing homes where she enjoyed doing things for the residents and always thought of other people before herself. Norma loved cooking Sunday breakfast for her family. She enjoyed her daily coffee break with her sister and brother-in-law. She loved making her yard beautiful and taking care of other people’s yards. She was always striving for and even won yard-of-the-month. Norma was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her two sons, Jackie Miller and wife Leslie of Woodward, Terry Miller of Woodward; two grandsons, Jaron Miller and wife Randi of Woodward, Joshua Miller and wife Leslie of Woodward; one great-granddaughter, Maci Miller of Woodward; two sisters, Roberta Waggoner of Woodward, Linda Kotwitz of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Leo Lehman and wife Joy Dee of Bethany, Duane Lehman and wife Barbara of Bethany, Kenneth Lehman and wife Lois of Tuttle; sisters-in-law, Ruby Ricks of Washington, Indiana, Lois Roedell of Sand Springs, Verda Gantz of Mooreland, Idabelle Schnoebelen of Mooreland; brother-in-law, Carl Dillinger of Enid; several special nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Delmer Miller on March 14, 2008.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
