Robert Clinton Long Jr. was born March 31, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert Clinton and Geraldine Iona (Pate) Long. Bob was reared in Oklahoma City and at the age of 12 moved to Seminole. He attended school in Oklahoma City and Seminole before attending college in Michigan. Bob was working as a service station manager when he met the love of his life, Marilyn Kay Newman. They were united in marriage on September 10, 1973 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward. They were blessed with four children, Robert Christopher, William Edward, Clinton Edward and Charles Theodore. Bob worked for Shaw Trucking Company as a truck driver in the 1980's. Bob was the first licensed EMT driver in Woodward, having received his license in the mid-1970's. His favorite job was driving the school bus for the Woodward Public Schools in the late 1980's and all throughout the 1990's. While driving the school bus he owned and operated Bob's Auto Detail. In 2004, Bob and his son Clinton started Oklahoma Hot Shot and Clinton continues to run that business. Bob had to retire due to ill health.

Bob graduated from the American Broadcasting School in the mid 1980's with his father.

He loved fishing, playing music, visiting with people, playing cards and horseshoes. Like his family always said, "He never met a stranger". Most of all Bob loved being with his family. Bob spent many hours watching his beloved OU Sooners playing football.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Marilyn Long of the home; four sons, Chris Long and his wife Kimberly; Willie Long and his wife Jennifer; Clinton Long; and Charley Long all of Woodward; one brother, Paul Coy of Woodward; two sisters, Jerri Lyerly of Newport News, Virginia; Faith McCormick of Keene, Texas; two grandchildren, Ava Jo Long and Ace Christopher Long; other relatives and many friends.
