Funeral: 10:00 AM Thursday, April 27th, 2017 - Billings Funeral Home Chapel

Interment: Thursday, April 27th, 2017 - Elmwood Cemetery

Franklin D. Heath, 83 year old former Woodward resident, passed Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home in Anna, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tony Barros officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Franklin D. Heath was born July 29, 1933 in Woodward, Oklahoma at the family home to Hugh D. and Lela May (Perry) Heath. Franklin attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1951. He was very active in school, playing football, basketball, and he also ran track. Franklin attended Oklahoma State University and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Franklin served his country during the Korean War before he was honorably discharged.

Franklin was united in marriage to Fern B. Kitchen in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. They were blessed with three children, Vicki, Hugh, and Edward. Franklin began working for Western Union Telegraph Company and retired from there in 1990. He then went to work for 16 years at NorTel Networks in Richardson, Texas.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was an avid bowler and loved bowling in a league. His work ethic was very strong and he loved his work and family.

He is survived by three children, Vicki Heath-Stein of Anna, Texas, Edward M. Heath and wife Jolaanta of Sparta, New Jersey, Hugh F. Heath of Anna, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jesse Heath, Tiffany Heath, Bryan Heath, James Stein, Brittany Brooks, Briele Heath, Robert Heath, David Heath, and Martin Heath; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Landon Heath and wife JoAnn of Moore; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, and two sisters.
