Interment: Thursday, August 6th, 2015 - Elmwood Cemetery

Lois Haught, 83 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jason Dirks officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Lois Arlene Haught was born on March 6, 1932 in Cedardale, Oklahoma to Arthur Vernon and Mary Inice (Courtney) Stafford. Lois grew up in Cedardale with her parents and siblings. On January 24, 1951, she married Alvin Green. They had a daughter, Linda Sue, in December of the same year. They lived and worked outside of Seiling, Oklahoma until his passing in 1967.

In 1973, Lois married Arrion Haught and gained two wonderful step-daughters, Evie and Mary Jane. They made their life in Woodward. They spent their time traveling with grandchildren, volunteering for Paralyzed Veterans of America and raising their granddaughter, Deidre. After Arrion’s death in 1997, Lois embarked on another career as a child care provider. She loved playing grandma all day. In 2005, she retired yet again, and enjoyed spending time in her garden and visiting family.

Lois was a generous and loving person who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with loved ones.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Deidre Hagemeier and husband Jeremiah of Edmond; grandson’s, Dean Pond and wife Teresa of Woodward, Doug Pond and wife Jessica of Mead, Kansas, Chris Pond of Scott City, Kansas, Robert Elwood and wife Nancy of Elk City; granddaughter, Dondalea Jordan of Wichita, Kansas; son-in-law, Robyn Davis of Woodward; her brothers and sisters, Delpha Sontag of Chester, J.L. Stafford and wife Betty of Ringwood, Coleta Bohn of Woodward, Evelyn Buffington and husband Bill of Ponca City, Dorma Gribble and husband Tom of Lindsey, Anna Belew and husband Jerry of Yukon, Marilyn Wake of Topeka, Kansas, Gary Stafford and wife Diane of Duncan; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Green and Arrion Minor Haught, one daughter Linda Sue Green, two step-daughters, Eveline Davis and Mary Jane Warren, one sister, Mavis Stafford, three brothers, Truman, Carl, and Kenneth.
