EVELYN THELMA JEAN FAIN GOSSETT

Woodward, Okla. — Graveside services for Evelyn Thelma Jean (Fain) Gossett, 84 of Woodward will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday May 1, 2010 at the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward under the direction of the Nichols Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Woodward.

Evelyn was born on January 28, 1926 in rural Okmulgee County near Henryetta, Oklahoma to Tom and Emma Fain. She departed from this life on Wednesday April 28, 2010 at the Mooreland Heritage Manor.

She was married to James F. Gossett in 1946. Together they raised three children, Tom, Janice and Mike. After her husband's retirement from the Navy, she returned to Woodward and worked in the restaurant business until attending nursing school.

She graduated from LPN school in February of 1984 and then began work for Western State Hospital in Ft. Supply where she worked until her retirement. She was a mother to many children in her lifetime taking time to care for children in need.

Evelyn will be missed by her children Tom Gossett and family of Gillette, WY, Mike Gossett of Woodward & Janice Humphrey of Woodward, her grandchildren Kale Graue and family of Overland Park KS., Scott Gossett and family of Shattuck OK., Chris Gossett and family of Fargo OK., Lori Gossett and family of Gillette WY., Sara Gossett of Bethany OK., her great-grandchildren Ashley, Amber, Randall, Tyler, Mercedes, Sierra, Ryan and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one granddaughter Sarah and one brother Leonard.
