EDWIN RAY ESTLE

August 20, 1939 - March 18, 2017

Edwin “Bud” Ray Estle, passed from this life on March 18, 2017 at his home in Broken Arrow. He was 77 years of age at the time of his passing.

Bud was born to Fred Estle, Jr. and Mildred (Haught) Estle on the family farm near Mutual, Oklahoma on August 20, 1939. He attended school at Sharon, Oklahoma graduating with the class of 1957. Following graduation, he began working for Coca-Cola as a salesman, a job he continued for 40 years until his retirement in 1997. Over the years this job took him from Woodward, Oklahoma to Joplin, Missouri, Enid, Oklahoma, Van Buren, Arkansas, Lawton, Oklahoma, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Billings, Montana where he retired and then moved back to Broken Arrow.

On August 20, 1963, he was married to the love of his life, Kathryn Hope (Chase) Estle in Woodward, Oklahoma, a union of over 50 years until her passing in 2014. Their home was blessed with two daughters, Diana and Dana. Bud often described himself as “Just a plain old country boy”, he liked cars, dancing, hunting, fishing and fixing things. He was especially proud of Diana and Dana, often telling others “I am so lucky, I have the two best daughters in the world”. Spending time with his grandchildren was quality time for him and always enjoyed.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Hope Estle and a brother James S. Estle.

He is survived by his two precious daughters, Diana Dophied and husband Jerry of Heath, Texas and Dana McQueen and husband George “Mac” of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a brother Phillip D. Estle of Sharon, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Christopher Nathan James Dophied, Victor Ray McQueen and Kathryn Hope McQueen; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
