Woodward, Okla. — Barba Bishop AKA "Uncle Bob", 68 year old former area resident, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Slater, Missouri. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Pastor Doug Shields officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Barba Gene Barrett Dawson Bishop was born on September 13, 1942 on a Friday, (she always said that Friday the 13th was a "Lucky Day") to Ernest Elija and Freddie Oleta (Smith) Barrett in Elk City, Oklahoma. She later married Charles Dawson and she is survived by one son, chuck Dawson and his wife Celia and their children, Justin, Katlyn, Geirmo and Ramone along with numerous Great-Grandchildren. One daughter Lexi Cooper and her husband Boyd and Lexi’s children Mikah and Brandon.

Barba later married Oliver Bishop and of this union there is one son, Shawn Bishop and his son Tyler Bishop. One daughter, Teressa Gordon and her children LaCrisha and her daughter Kyra, Sam Martin and his children, Ivy, Madison and Craig and Ian Martin and his daughter Maggie-Mae, Lil, Victor, and Aaron, Chelsea and her daughter, Zoe.

Barba was preceded in death by both her mother and dad, brother Gerald Barrett, sister-in-law, Linda Whisennand, one husband Oliver Bishop, three siblings from crib death and she also lost a set of twins. Two special nephews, William "Pee Wee" Barrett and Darrell "Hoss" Barrett.

Besides her children, she is survived by her two special nieces, Dwana Griffith and her husband Danny and Darla Hill, two great nephews, William "Billy" Griffith and Adam Barrett; two great nieces, Emma and Krista Fizer and a great-great niece Kinzie and her great-great nephew Ely.
