MABLE L. PERRY BENJAMIN

19 May 1907 - 18 Jun 2000

WOODWARD - The funeral for Mable L. Benjamin, 93, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First baptist Church. Dr. Russell Duck will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home.

She was born May 19, 1907, in Alba, Mo., to Eben and Alice Downs Perry and died Sunday, Jun 18, 2000, in Woodward Hospital and Health Center.

She had moved with the family to Commerce where she attended school. In 1923, the family moved to Woodward. She attended Woodward schools.

On Jun 4, 1929, she married James "Orville" Benjamin at Woodward. She worked at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. In 1951, she joined Woodward flower shop and Green House, selling the shop in 1972.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of VFW Lodge No. 1335 and Rebekah Lodge No. 73. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Woodward Hospital.

Surviving are one son, James of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Patricia Moore and Bonnie Brown of Woodward; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on March 22, 1971, one sister and three brothers.
