Woodward, Okla. — Gerald D. Barrett, 65 year old former Mooreland resident, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Marshall, Missouri. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Rodney Shields officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Gerald Dean Barrett was born on July 18, 1944 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Bill and Freddie Barrett. He grew up around Elk City and Poteau and attended school there. Gerald worked in the oilfield all of his life. He was united in marriage to Linda Bishop in 1965. They later divorced and Gerald moved to Missouri.

He is survived by his daughters, Dwana Griffith and husband Daniel, Darla Hill; his sweetheart, Dorthy Howard; one sister, Barbara Bishop; four grandchildren, Emmy, William, Krista, Adam; two great-grandchildren, Makinzie and Eli; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Darrell Dean Barrett on October 22, 1999 and William Barrett.
