Woodward – Services for Theodore A. Anthem, 74, who lived southwest of Woodward, will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Stecher Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Hegstrom of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Anthem died Sunday in a local hospital, after a two – month illness.
He was born southwest of Sharon on February 12, 1911, and was a member of the First Church of God.
On July 18, 1931, he married Verla Shepherd in Woodward. The couple lived in Wichita, Bucklin, McPherson and Liberal, Kansas, before moving to Woodward in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; three sons, Clyde Anthem of Woodward, Kenneth Anthem of Wichita, and Michael Anthem of Fulton, Missouri; three daughters, Phyllis Anthem of Woodward, Theo Wille of Omaha, Nebraska, and Katherine Berry of St. Louis; one sister, Mrs. Tracie von Schriltz of Tecumseh; 15 grandchildren and eight great – grandchildren.
