Woodward, Okla. — Chris Adams, 68 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Woodward Regional Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Charlie Graves officiating. Loretta Christine (Young) Adams was born on October 16, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George and Freida (Kilgore) Young. Chris was reared in the Tulsa area and graduated from Tulsa Edison High School in 1959. Chris was united in marriage to John Quincy "J.Q." Adams on May 30, 1962 in Durant, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Tulsa and were blessed with two children, Megan and John. The family moved to Lawton because of J.Q.’s job and in 1975 they moved to Salt Lake City. In 1976 they moved to Woodward and Chris has lived here since that time. J.Q. preceded her in death on November 28, 1995. Because of her ill health she moved into the Grace Living Center in 2006.

Chris stayed at home with her children and was very involved with their activities. Her family meant the world to her and she loved them dearly. Chris enjoyed the friendships she made with the staff at Grace.

She is survived by her daughter, Megan Kline and husband Darrin of Woodward; one son John Adams and wife Kerrie of Tulsa; one brother Gary Young and wife Nancy of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Corbitt Kline, Coltin Kline, Caylee Kline, J.Q. Adams, and Claire Adams; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Freida Young, one brother, Larry Young and her husband J.Q. Adams.

Memorial contributions may be made to the High Plains Outreach Center with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
