Nellie Clariece Garriott, 89 year old resident of Buffalo, OK, formally of Mutual OK, passed from this life on July 21, 2016 in the Buffalo Harper County Community Hospital. Nellie was born on October 23, 1926 in Mutual, OK to James Frank and Effie May Clovis.

Nellie attended Mutual Grade School from 1932-1940, and Mutual High School from 1940-1944. In 1945, after graduating high school, she attended Junior College.

On July 25, 1945, at the age of 19, Nellie was united in marriage to Harold (Buck) Samuel Garriott, of Seiling. They had two children; son Robert (Bob) Merrill and daughter Diana Elizabeth, both of Woodward, OK.

In 1936 Nellie was baptized and became a member of the First Christian Church of Mutual. She attended this church all of her life and was always willing to do whatever they ask her to do.

Nellie and Buck lived in the Moscow Flats, then moved to Woodward County from 1945 to 1956, then lived in Mutual, OK from 1956-2006 before moving to Selman, OK, Harper County from 2006 to 2016.

Nellie worked as a seamstress at Cowdens Mfg. in Woodward. She was a cook for Mutual Schools until 1969 and she worked for United Supermarkets----Boomer Packing until her retirement.

She enjoyed relief carving, plastic canvas work, gardening, feeding the town of Mutual, and she loved to walk. Nellie was a" Pink Lady" for the Woodward Hospital for approximately ten years. She was proud of her two children who grew up as Christians and raised families of their own.

She was preceded in death by her husband, his parents, her parents, and their son Robert, and all brothers and sisters on both sides of the family, except one sister on Harold's side.

She is survived by her daughter Diana Clark, sister-in-law Wanda Gates, daughter -in-law Vernita Garriott, grandchildren: Shiela Steadman, Dawna Russell, Levi Clark, Casey Gulley, Colton and Tyra Russell, Sam and Mikaylynn Underhill and Tyrell Underhill, Domingo and wife Heidi Garriott, Kristian Garriott, Nicky Garriott and wife, Kevin and wife Heather Garriott, Victor Garriott, Becky Garriott, Kyle and wife Sherrie and Mark Garriott; foster grandchildren: Mark Bradt, Heather Collins and husband Terry, and Justin Watson and wife Dawn; great-grandchildren: Xavier Garriott, Iziah Garriott, Ezekiel Garriott, Jeramy Garriott and Markus Garriott, Alicia Garriott, Ricky and Cody Colke, Jace Brook Russell, Addison Clark, Paisley (Becky) Clark and Lathan (Stoney) Clark, Caylee Gulley and Emilee Gulley, Matthew Walkue, Shayne Colline, Katelyn Steadman, and Hayden Steadman, Tennasyn Collins and Haiva Collins; great-great-grandchildren: Hayden Ryatt Underhill, Bella Rae Russell; nieces and nephews: Vicky Falconer and husband Doug, Arnita Schitz, Starla Voll, Dale and wife Lea Ann Gillham, Linda and Richard Gau, Dennis and Sharon Gillham, Carol and Bud Cunningham, Larry Gillham and wife, Roy and Judy Gillham; other family and a host of friends.
