VENITA PATTON

Venita Patton, 83 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, June 13, 2008 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel, Woodward. Interment will be in the Curtis Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Woodward on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday at the funeral home in Mooreland from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Venita Alice (Ingraham) Patton was born July 2, 1924 at Beenham, New Mexico to Charles and Jane (Million) Ingraham. She came to Oklahoma at the age of 2 with her family and lived the rest of her life in the Curtis, Quinlan and Mooreland area.

Venita, better known as Pete attended school in Curtis and Mooreland. Venita was united in marriage to Orval Elwood Patton in Ashland, Kansas on January 4, 1941. This union was graced by one son, Gary Ray Patton.

She is survived by her husband Orval Patton of the home; one son Gary Patton and wife Addie of Mooreland; one grandson, Mark Patton and wife Beth of Mooreland; great-granddaughters, Ashley Nichole Patton and Sarah Renee Patton of Mooreland; one brother, Jimmy Dean Ingraham and wife Wanda; sisters, Mildred Geraldine Gardner; Dorothy Margaret Bull and husband Dorman; Neola Maxine Reed; Helen Louise Holloway and husband Cecil; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
