MSGT. THOMAS "TOM" WESLEY FIELDS

MSgt. Thomas "Tom" Wesley Fields Family will attend a private Military service with Honor Guard at his parents' grave site at a later date.

MSgt. Thomas "Tom" Wesley Fields, USAF, (Ret) passed from this world at age 81, Wednesday February 12, 2014 from pneumonia at the Clinton Veteran Center, Clinton, OK where he had been residing since Sept 02, 2010.

Tom was born June 30, 1932 to Roy Thomas Fields and Lenola Fern (Scollin) Fields in Curtis, Oklahoma. He attended Curtis School and then entered the United States Air Force on August 09, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK. Thomas was a Chief Enlisted Aircrew Flight Engineer with over 13,000 flying hours on the C-54, C-124 and C-141 aircraft under the Military Airlift Command. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was awarded the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star, United Nations Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Stars.

Tom retired honorable after 22 years in the Air force on March 31, 1971 at Norton Air Force Base, California. Returning to the Curtis area, residing in Mooreland, OK, he worked in Law Enforcement and was a Park Ranger at Boiling Springs State Park in Woodward, OK. He was a life member of the Air Force Sergeants' Association.

Thomas was united in marriage to Juanita M (Canfield) of Woodward, OK on October 13, 1955 in Clayton, New Mexico. To this union were born 2 sons and 2 daughters; Thomas E. Fields, Jerri L. (Fields) Underwood, Tami R. (Fields) Swineford and Wesley A. Fields. Thomas was united in marriage to Sandra (Wagner) Wilson on January 22, 1972 in San Bernardino, California. To this union a son was born, Stephen B. Fields. Tom is survived by his children; Thomas E. and Debra (Nordick) Fields of Woodward, OK, Jerri L (Fields) Underwood of Kaw City, OK, Tami R (Fields) and Rick Swineford of Laverne, OK, MSgt. Wesley A Fields, USAF, (Ret), of Ft Walton Beach, FL, MSgt. Stephen B, USAF, (Ret), and Pamela (Ward) Fields of Newalla, OK, one brother; Sgt Billy E., US Army (Ret) and Syvilla (Elwood) Fields of Mooreland, OK; 10 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
