Waynoka Cemetery


William Leroy Boyle, 92, son of the late Robert and Adelia Bradley Boyle, was born at Pawnee, Oklahoma, January 15, 1901, and passed away at Share Medical Center, Alva, Oklahoma, May 29, 1993.

On November 1, 1919, he was united in marriage to Pauline Highfield at Woodward, Oklahoma. They moved to the Waynoka community in 1921.

He joined the Baptist Church in Waynoka in 1921 and has remained a faithful member through the years. He was an electrician and pipefitter for the Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement. They made their home in Waynoka until 1962 when they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, returning to Waynoka in 1984.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, on February 22, 1993, one son, Robert Dean Boyle, one granddaughter, Sarah Beth Gillison, four brothers, Frieve, Tom, Jess and Jim Boyle, and two sisters, Retta Murry and Rena Dick.

He is survived by two daughters, Elaine Gillison and Nadine Vanderslice and her husband, Elroy, of Waynoka. Six grandchildren, Robert Benson of Wilmington, Delaware; Jeannie and her husband, Dan Glommen, of Lithonia, Georgia; Bill Gillison and his wife, Fran, of Boulder, Colorado; Paula and her husband, Dan Tatar, of Richmond, Virginia; Becky and her husband, David Peoples, of Oregon and Robert L. Boyle of Newport Beach, California. Also, 10 great – grandchildren and two great – great – grandchildren, and his sister, Maude Greer, Oklahoma City.

Funeral services were at 10 AM Tuesday, June 1, 1993, at the first Baptist Church in Waynoka. Rev. David Shaw and Robert Boyle officiated. Interment was in the Waynoka Cemetery under direction of the Marshall Funeral Home.

The family requests those who wish may make memorials to the Waynoka Emergency Medical Technicians through the funeral home.
