December 25, 1937 - June 23, 2021

Funeral services for Earl David Vore will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2021, at the Alva First Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Ruwaldt officiating. Interment will be in the Union Center Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Earl David Vore, son of Ralph and Flossie (Reed) Vore was born Christmas day, 1937, in Dacoma, Oklahoma. He departed this life on June 23, 2021, at the age of 83.

David was united in marriage to Judy Ann Fulkerson on May 15, 1965, in Hopeton, Oklahoma. At this time, they began a long and happy life as a coaching and teaching family. David was one of Oklahoma's most successful girl's basketball coaches from 1962 to 1979. He established outstanding records at Dacoma, Carmen, Forgan, Kremlin and Fargo. His teams won numerous state championships in both basketball and track. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1983. He touched many lives during his career as a coach and teacher.

He is survived by his wife Judy; his son, Shane and wife, Shannon; grandchildren, Stetson and wife, Courtney; Sadie and husband, Nathaniel Wilson; one soon-to-be great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his brother Jim and wife, Moira, of Washington D.C.; his sister, Christena Marsland of Covington, LA; many nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Police Department for the Cops and Kids Program.
