Graveside services for Evelyn Marcella (Briggs) Newman, 83 of Enid will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Union Center Cemetery in Dacoma, OK. Pastor Steve Williams will officiate. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Evelyn Marcella (Briggs) Newman was born on June 14, 1938, in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Bonnie and Joe Briggs, and passed away January 21, 2022, in Enid, OK.

She was raised in Tahlequah, OK, later moving to Dacoma, OK, where she raised five children who she loved dearly. She worked at Beadles nursing home and enjoyed baking cakes for special occasions. She loved spending time with her family, cooking her children and grandchildren's favorite dishes when they came to visit, quilting, ceramics, camping and fishing. She married Donovan Albert Newman in Dacoma on August 10, 1991. Prior to that, Evelyn married Harold Ray Newman on September 4, 1954. Both preceding her in passing. Evelyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Enid, OK.

Evelyn is survived by her children Jimmy Newman of Enid, OK, Joyce Newman of Enid, OK, and Robert and wife Jenell Newman of Dacoma, OK; grandchildren: Stacey Newman, Brittney Federko, Dylan Newman, Quin Newman, Sophie Newman, Jude Newman, Jo Lynn Jones, Amanda White, Chandra Cissell, Hana Kimberling, Abbie Reynolds and 11 great grandchildren; step-grandchildren: Joe Don Newman, Scott Newman, Kyle Newman, and Rob Ogle. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, two children: Dennis Newman and Donna (Newman) White, three brothers and one sister: Trulin Briggs, Lois (Briggs) Nuckolls, Dale Briggs and Rudy Briggs. Along with a host of relatives, friends and loved ones.
