Betty was a devout Catholic. She served as president of the church board of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alva, Okla. After moving to Oklahoma City, she attended St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister each Sunday and an ardent worker in St. Vincent DePaul. Betty was a living example, in her quiet way, of carrying out Christ’s teaching. Family was her next love and they all counted on her for support, which she gave. She was not a selfish person, always putting others before herself. She loved her birds, flowers and other pets that frequented the backyard. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Throughout the many decades of her life she helped many people in various ways. She will certainly be missed by all that knew her.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Smith and Kernke, followed by a prayer service in the Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, St. Eugene’s Catholic Church. Interment will be 3 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Alva, Okla. May Ave., Oklahoma City.
