Richard Frances Mathieu

Richard Frances Mathieu was born on October 22, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, and passed away on March 27 2019. Richard enlisted in the Navy in 1955 and served five years during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he lived in California for many years and there met Linda Annett.

In 1972, he and Linda moved to Wichita, Kansas, and were married on July 5, 1974.

Richard was employed at Feroly Foundry for 10 years and Kansas Plating Company for 18 years. He and Linda moved to Alva, Oklahoma, in 1990 where they resided until his passing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lysle Clair Mathieu and Jacqueline Imogene Cunningham and a brother, Jerry Sale.

Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda (Annett) Mathieu; two daughters, Terry Cano-Hori of Monrovia, California, and Kristina Sale of Panorama City, California; one brother, Calvin Sale of Klamath Falls, Oregon; two sisters, Jackie Kemsley and husband Bill of Gilbert, Arizona, and Diana Bison, of Lancaster, California; ten nieces and nephews and four grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 13, 2019, at the Alva Catholic Cemetery with Father Balraj officiating.

Linda Bernadette (Annett) Mathieu passed away on January 17, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born in Alva, Oklahoma, on September 1, 1950, to Joe Annett and Lorene Elizabeth (Bouziden) Annett.

After graduating high school in Alva, she lived in California for a short time where she met Richard Mathieu. They were married in Wichita, Kansas, July 5, 1974, and resided there for several years before returning to Alva.

She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society. Linda loved her family very much and had a gift of remembering everyone's phone number and birthday. You could always count on a phone call from Linda on your birthday. Linda and Richard loved dogs. Their most recent faithful companion, Lilly, was Linda's pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Richard Frances Mathieu; parents, Joe and Lorene; brothers, Thomas Earl Annett, and Joe Annett Jr. and his wife Patricia Annett.

She is survived by sister Mildred Gesner and husband Gordon of Plano, Texas; brother Ellis Annett and wife Nancy of Oklahoma City; brother John Annett and wife Tammy of Cleveland, Oklahoma; sister Mary Welty and husband Steve of Stillwater; brother Gary Annett and wife Norma of Marana, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are pending. She will be laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery in Alva, Oklahoma. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 627 12th Street, Alva, OK 73717.
