Memorial Hill Cemetery


A memorial service for Ann Elizabeth Lyon, 76, of Pond Creek, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Pond Creek. The Rev. Sonja Tobey will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Waynoka Memorial Cemetery.

She was born April 13, 1932, in Jackson, Tenn., to Elmer Y. and Imiagene Beemer Hollis and died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at her home. She graduated from Jackson High School. She married Coy Lyon in December 1953 in Las Vegas. They moved to Dumas, Texas, for 10 years, then moved to Enid. She was a housewife and worked as a secretary at George E. Failings Co. several years. She retired and moved to Pond Creek.

Surviving are two daughters, Terry Paine of Skiatook and Debbie Peterman of Pond Creek; one son, Stanley Lyon of Enid; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy, one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made to Pond Creek Firemen’s Association.
