Deceased: Edna M. Buckland, 97, Waynoka

Edna M. Buckland, daughter of the late George and Mattie (Ferguson) Bixler, was born October 24, 1908, on the farm northwest of Waynoka, and passed away December 12, 2005, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years, 1 month, and 18 days.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett, her daughter, Lenore Jean Ferguson; three brothers, Floyd Bixler, Ralph Bixler, and Ray Bixler, and one granddaughter, Joy Ferguson.

Edna is survived by two sons, Lynn Buckland and his wife, Deanna, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and Phil Buckland and his wife, Sally, of Empire, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Brenda Borders, Dana Ferguson, Marty Ferguson, VaLynda Porter, Ron Buckland, Mark Buckland, and Brian Buckland; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Thompson; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Avard Christian Church with Rev. Aaron Nutter officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Hill Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Memorial Hill Cemetery.
