Freedom Cemetery


Services for Myrtle Bickford, 84, Waynoka, will be at 2 PM Tuesday in Freedom Christian Church with the Rev. Kirk Smethers officiating.

Interment will be in the Freedom Cemetery.

Mrs. Bickford was born May 16, 1899 in Moundsville, Missouri and died Friday in an Alva hospital. In 1901, her family moved to the Fair Valley area in Woods County where she attended school. She married Carl Bickford on September 8, 1917 in Alva.

Following their marriage, they farmed in Woods County until 1975, when the couple moved to Waynoka. She was a member of the Freedom Christian Church and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Bickford is survived by her husband Carl, of the home, a daughter Lena Faye and a son Glenn, both of Waynoka, and two grandsons.

Contributions may be made in her name to the Freedom Christian Church or the American Cancer Fund.
