Jackie Joe Scribner, age 75, of Waukomis, was born on October 5, 1950 in Alva, Oklahoma, to James L. Scribner and Hulda H. Scribner. Jack passed from this life on February 13, 2026.
Jack grew up in Alva with his older brother, Jim, and his younger brother Jeff. He graduated from Alva High School in 1969. It was in Alva, in 1966, at the age of 16, where he met the love of his life Sandy Sue Scribner. They married on June 8, 1970.
Starting in 1970, Jack served in the United State Army. He was stationed in Augsburg, German along with his wife and new baby, Jackie jr. They remained there a year.
When he returned to the States, he and his family settled in Enid, Oklahoma, where he began working for A1 electric. In 1977, Jack started his own oilfield rental company, “Jack’s Electric.” He spent 41 years wiring rigs, dropping water pumps, and delivering generators and lighting towers, which he designed and built. He retired from his business in 2018.
In 1982, Jack and Sandy purchased their forever home in the country west of Waukomis. There, they raised three children, Jackie, Joshua, and Jennifer. The family would spend some of their favorite times together in Alva, where they would visit family for holidays and many harvest, where Jack would drive a combine for his father.
Jack enjoyed collecting 1963 Ford Falcons throughout his life. He purchased his first and favorite white convertible Falcon in 1969. After retiring he enjoyed restoring his cars and showing them off at car shows. At these shows, he enjoyed seeing the cars and making conversation with anyone who wanted to talk. He was a member of the local Falcon club as well as The Falcon Club of America.
Many of Jack’s best times were spent with his dad and brothers, Jeff and Jim. If he wasn’t playing pinball with his brothers, he was on the phone with one of them daily. His brothers were his best friends.
Jack loved to travel and spend time with his wife and grandson, John. He loved camping in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado. He often took all his grandkids with him when they were young.
Jack was a loving, caring and honest man who worked as hard as anyone ever did. He loved his family and would do anything for them. He loved long conversations and gave great advice. However, his first response to any question, no matter how serious, was guaranteed to be a Dad Joke. He made us laugh and sometime roll our eyes.
Jack is survived by his wife Sandy, his children and spouses, Jack, Joshua
and his wife Jillian, Jenny and her husband Jeremy, his grandchildren and
spouses, Brooke and her husband Kyle, Jenna, Alesis and her husband Allen,
Savannah, Jessie, Shelby, Kelsie, John, Paige, Katie and her husband Marco,
Kory, and Emily, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom he
loved, his father, James Scribner, and his brothers Jeff and Jim.
He was
preceeded in death by his mother, Hulda Scribner, sister in-law Cleo Scriber
and his grandson Damon Brown.
WE LOVE HIM VERY MUCH AND HE WILL BE FOREVER MISSED.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jack will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, February 23, 2026, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clayton Stevicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery, Alva, OK, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
