Graveside services for Lora G. Parker will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Ron Pingelton officiating. Interment is under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Lora was born on January 16, 1928, in Hugo, Oklahoma, as the youngest daughter of John W. and Maggie M. (McBride) Garrett. She attended public schools in Smithville, Oklahoma. Lora passed away on August 26, 2018, in the Share Convalescent Home in Alva.

She was married briefly to Edward J. Derrick. In 1946, Lora moved to Alva. She married John M. Lakely in April 1949 and they made their home in Alva. She and John had three children, Kathy Holt, Douglas and Dennis Lakely.

After John Lakely's death in October 1961, Lora and John Parker were married in January 1963 and lived in Alva until 1970, moving first to Enid and then in 1973 moving to Guymon. John passed away in October 1982. In 1994, Lora returned to Alva to be with her mother and sister (Ann).

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Crawford; her husbands, John Lakely and John Parker; her son-in-law, Stanley Holt; her daughter-in-law, Jerilyn Lakely; four stepdaughters, Beulah Zalewski, Margie Pshigoda, Alva (Bebe) Eslick, and Patty Nusser; and a stepson, John A. Lakely.

Lora is survived by her children, Kathy Holt of Kiowa, Kansas, Douglas Lakely and his wife, Janet, of Alva, and Dennis Lakely of Enid; her sister, Geneva Byars Cox of Wister, Oklahoma; her step daughter, Delphia Ridgway of Pasadena, Texas; her nephew, Danny Crawford of Enid; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.
