Lydia Rose (Chaloupek) Parker
November 27, 1934 - April 25, 2023

Lydia Rose Chaloupek Parker was born November 27, 1934, to Audrey Cook Chaloupek and John Chaloupek and was raised south of Longdale in Blaine County, Oklahoma. She departed this life on April 25, 2023 at Enid, Oklahoma.

She attended Longdale School to the 10th grade and went to work at the 5 and 10 store in Canton. She worked in retail for 11 years. On Sundays, she worked at Scotty's cafe.

Lydia loved her nephews and nieces and often took care of them. She met the love of her life, Virgil Parker, of Avard, Oklahoma, at a dance in Fairview. He asked her to dance, and then immediately planned to meet her at Scotty's cafe in Canton the next Saturday night. She stayed on her parent's farm for 10 more years before they married on January 26th, 1968, at the Methodist Church of Canton.

They moved to Carmen, where she sewed clothes and worked as a beauty operator for a short time. They lived there until Virgil's father died, and then moved to the farm and built a new home of which she was very proud. Lydia raised vegetables, calves, poultry, and sold eggs, while also working at the Avard cafe for many years. They farmed until Virgil's death on July 30, 2015.

Following his death, she stayed often with her nephew and his wife, Dennis and Oletha Acre, eventually moving her membership from the Avard Christian Church to the Canton Christian Church. After many wonderful vacations with Dennis and his family, she decided to move in with them, visiting her beautiful farm often.

She loved the Lord and was always praying for her nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, her parents, her brother, James Chaloupek and sister, Edith Acre, as well as her nephew, John Chaloupek. She was survived by numerous nephews and nieces who loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Canton Christian Church with Pastor Michael Grigsby and Pastor Steve Driskill officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m., at Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Canton Christian Church kitchen or to the Oakwood Fire Dept. with Pierce Funeral Home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
