Funeral services for Francis "Frank" Amos were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Marshall Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Kirk officiating. Burial followed in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Francis Leo Amos, son of the late Kenneth Leo and Betty Jane (Miller) Amos, was born December 18, 1964, at Liberty, Missouri, and passed away November 20, 2024, at his home in Waynoka, Oklahoma, at the age of 59 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

Frank was raised in Liberty, Missouri, where he graduated from Liberty High School. He attended Penn College and obtained a degree in Architecture. He worked for several companies designing and building homes. He later became a truck driver and traveled many places. On October 19, 2008, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Whitely at the Christian Church in Slater, Missouri. With this marriage, he gained two children, Wayne and Rhonda, and five grandchildren. He and Mary Ann later divorced but remained close friends.

He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed drawing, listening to music and singing. In his younger years he liked to roller skate which earned him a job at a roller skating rink. Frank's parents, Kenny and Betty, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his companion, Mary Ann Whitely of Alva; children, Wayne Whitely and wife, Mandi, of Hopeton, and Rhonda Whitely of Alva; his sisters, Carolyn Rodriguez and husband, Ronald, of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Marilyn Leman and husband, David, of Kearney, Missouri; five grandchildren, Cassandra Arms and husband, Derek, of Slater, Missouri, John Bamberg and wife, Veronica, of Woodward, Amanda Todd and husband, Khris, of Alva, Cooper Whitely and Brylie Whitely, both of Hopeton; six great grandchildren, Olivia Todd and Lane Todd, Luz Bamberg and Sophia Bamberg, Everly Arms, and Kylie King; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Ridgeview Veterinary Hospital to spay and neuter stray cats.
