Margaret F. (King) Carpenter-Pyron

Margaret F. Carpenter-Pyron was born September 12, 1921 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Emma and Wallace King. She passed away September 30, 2014 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years and 18 days.

Margaret grew up in the Sentinel and Port communities. She graduated from Port High School in 1939. Almost immediately after graduation she was married to George Carpenter and they briefly moved to Denver, Colorado before moving back to the Sentinel and Dill City areas. Together they raised their three children in those areas and she was a homemaker. Margaret and George later owned and operated the Dill City Butane, Propane and Diesel Company where she kept the books until George's death when she took on the role of diagnosing, fixing and ordering the parts for their many clients. In 1980 she was married to Pat Pyron and they moved to Cordell where they made their home. Margaret was a member of the BPW (Business Professional Women) and gave readings and performances to various organizations, Morning Coffee Group and Joy Sunday School Class at the Cordell First Baptist Church. She also enjoyed being a Dallas Cowboys fan and attending OU Sooner football games. Margaret also loved the OKC Thunder, NASCAR and the Major League Baseball World Series. Above all Margaret was the epitome of a lady and lived for her Lord and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 4 brothers, Son King, Charles King, Bill King, Tommy King and 2 sisters, Gladys Sherman and Mae Ormand.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Lori Piercey and husband, J.T., Dill City, OK and Sherri Carlson and husband, Eugene, Sweetwater, OK; 1 son, Michael Carpenter and wife, Didi, Dill City, OK; 1 step-son, Max Pyron and wife, Shari, Bryant, AR; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
