Beatrice (Hawkins) Williams

Beatrice Hawkins Williams was born April 18, 1920, near Hammon, Oklahoma, to H.G. and Mabel Hawkins and passed away July 26, 1980, at Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

Beatrice lived all her childhood and school years in Roger Mills County. On November 9, 1941, she was married to Kelso Williams. To this union one daughter Joan, was born.

Beatrice and Kelso lived various places during his service years and before moving to Goodwell, Oklahoma, in 1963. While in Goodwell, Kelso managed the Student Center and Beatrice managed the College Bookstore at Panhandle State College. In 1974, they retired and moved to a farm at Crawford, Oklahoma, where they have lived until the time of her death.

Beatrice was a loving housewife and mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her father, H.G. Hawkins, and her brother, James Hawkins.

Survivors include her husband, Kelso, of the home; one daughter, Joan McGovern, of Edmond, Oklahoma; her mother, Mrs. Mabel Hawkins, of Cheyenne; and one sister, Mrs. Bernice Burns of Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, 1980, at the Magnolia Baptist Church, Crawford, Oklahoma, with burial at Lawn View Cemetery at Cordell, Oklahoma, following.

Serving as pallbearers were Jim Burns, Mickey Burns, Sam Wood, Richard Greenhaw, Larry Greenhaw and Sam Greenhaw.
