T.K. Butler was born February 1, 1925 in Floydada, Texas to Della Mae and William Butler. He passed away October 22, 2014 at Cordell, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 21 days.

T.K. grew up in the Cordell and Corn communities and attended Red Rock schools. After his schooling he was drafted into the United States Coast Guard and served as port security in New York City during World War II. After his discharge, he married Alva Leota (Prickett) Butler at Cordell, Oklahoma January 12, 1947. They remained in the Cordell and Foss areas to make their home and raise their family. In the early 60's he was elected to the Cordell City Council and also served law enforcement with the Washita County sherriff's department. In his later years he enjoyed county and western dancing, fishing and hunting. T.K. was a man that put his family and service to his family and community first and foremost.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, 1 sister and 1 brother.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Peil and husband, Dan, Tulsa, OK; 2 sons, Jerry Joe Butler and wife, Priscilla, Borger, TX and Terry Kenneth Butler and wife, Carol, Edmond, OK; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Maxine Demming and husband, Duane, Valley Center, KS; 1 niece, Linda Starr and husband, Gene, Overland Park, KS and a host of other relatives and friends.
