Murray Orgain was born January 10, 1924 near Canute, Oklahoma to Ebb R. and Lydia Rea Orgain. He passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at the age of 95 years and 8 days.

Murray lived on the farm south of Canute the majority of his life. In the early 30's, Murray moved his family to Medford, Oregon to work in the packing plants and in the 1960's, they returned to Canute. He worked for several farmers in the Canute and Elk city areas. He also worked for Burns Flat Cotton Gin for several seasons. On of his favorite employers was Foster Reeder at Burns Flat, whom he worked for for many years. Murray enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his 50's and inventing things in his garage, but his true love was dancing. Before his illness, sometimes every day of the week, he would put on his plaid pearl snap shirt, Wrangler dress pants and cowboy boots, and head to a country music dance in various towns between Amarillo and Oklahoma City. He danced for over 30 years and was very proud of his moves! Two of his fondest memories was dancing with Mindy at her wedding and dancing with Kandi in Cooperton, OK for his 90th birthday. Murray was a father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. In 2016, following an illness, Murray moved to Elk City to live with his son Kervin and wife Mary. He spent his final precious months on this earth with his son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter Kandi and Gary caring for him, to ensure he knew he was loved and taken care of. Murray never tired of telling Alex stories of when he was growing up and always wanted to know how many new calves and how many head of cattle Alex had, he was always interested in what vehicle he drove when he visited Elk City. He always looked forward to Facetiming with Mindy and the great grandchildren and would always end the call with a kiss to say goodbye. Just days before his death, Murray was surrounded by all of his family to celebrate his 95th birthday. He was gleaming from ear to ear with happiness; his heart was full of love and joy.

He is survived by his son, Kervin and wife Mary, of Elk City, OK, granddaughters Mindy Garcia and husband, Alex of Edmond, OK, Kandi Trejo and companion, Gary Brackett of Elk City, OK, 4 great grandchildren, Alexia, Vincente, Cristiano, and Ryder Garcia; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Frank and Sheryl Young who would visit him and bring him strawberry shakes.

Murray was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Delbert Orgain (Doris) and sister, Della Mae Jones (Glen).
