When Clarence passed away in 2004 Pearl continued to make the home place her home until the age of 96 when ill health forced her to move to Elkwood Assisted Living Center. She enjoyed caring for her flowers, crocheting and sewing and was also a member of the Custer County Home Demonstration Club and was active with the Custer County Election Board.
