Alice Faye Shoate
October 20, 1943 - February 24, 2026
Faye was born on October 20, 1943, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Leonard and Abbie (Briscoe) Shoate. After graduating high school, Faye entered the workforce with a determination that defined her character. She spent many years working as an Inspector at Reda Pump, a role that showcased her technical skill and strong work ethic in a demanding field.
While Faye was known for her diligence at work, her heart belonged entirely to her family. Her greatest joy in life was her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She poured her love into the younger generations, and her legacy of kindness and family unity will be carried forward by them.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Abbie Shoate; her daughter, Cherita Shoate Adair; her sister, Viola Ishem; her brothers, Oma Lee Shoate, Leon Shoate, and Glenn Shoate; and her grandson, Courtlyn Shoate.
She is survived by her brother, Edward Shoate of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; her two sons, Darnell Dodd and his wife Rene of Dallas, Texas, and Carlos Shoate of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and her three grandchildren, Briana Ishem of Bartlesville, JaMecha Dodd of Marion, Texas, and Michael Jackson of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Amariana Ishem, Steven Ishem, and Le'Bryce Ishem, all of Bartlesville; four nieces, Sophia Shoate of Atlanta, Georgia, Cynthia Barnes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Sheryl Jones and Kim Wilson, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a special cousin Fred Gragg; and a host of beloved great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
