Betty “Pat” Payne Hicks Lee, 89, of Dewey, died Monday in Bartlesville. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Charles and the large extended family God doubly blessed her with.

Pat was born the daughter of Lawrence Leslie and Alta Maye (Lamkin) Payne on November 22, 1929, in Caldwell, KS. She was united in marriage with Everett M. Hicks in August of 1946. After 52 years of marriage Everett preceded her in death in 1998. Pat was lucky to find a second great love with Charles Dean Lee of Dewey. Pat and Dean got married May 30, 1999, and they enjoyed twenty years of loving marriage. Pat and Charles enjoyed taking trips to Branson, Missouri, and eating at their favorite restaurant the Copan Truck Stop. Pat enjoyed sewing and quilting, as well as making and decorating wedding cakes for family and friends. For the past twenty years Pat has been a faithful member of the Nowata Church of Christ. She was a loving wife and took good care of Dean. Most of all Pat was a loving, kind and generous woman who leaves behind many loved ones who will dearly miss her.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Dean Lee of the home; stepsons, Charles Dean Lee Jr. and Sue of Dewey, and Robert Earl Lee and Barbara of Dewey; daughter-in-law Saralou Flanigan Hicks Williams; brother Duane “Bud” Payne and Yolanda “Jo” of Brownsville, Texas; four step-grandchildren, Melissa Davis and Thresa, Carl Lee, Danny Lee and Dana, Kenny Lee and Amanda; great-grandsons Daniel and Stephen; and step-great-grandchildren Taylor, Riley, Skyler, Tryston and Wyatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Hicks; her son Roy Hicks; grandson Jason Hicks; siblings, Robert E Payne, Bonnie (Mickey) McKee, Billy Joel Payne, Mary Jolene Falls, Monty Lee Payne Treft, Tommy Gordon Payne and Donna Johnson.
