Ramona

Neva Jo Miller, 95 year old long time resident of Ramona, Oklahoma passed away March 4th, 2026 in the Nowata Nursing Center in Nowata, Oklahoma.

Neva Jo was born December 26, 1931 in Gracemont, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Wesley J. White and Norma Viola Phillips White. She was the fourth child born of eight; Gladys, Mildred (died as a baby), Ruby, Neva Jo, Edward, Melvin, and the twins Larry and Jerry. After the girls were born, they moved from Gracemont, OK to a farm located at Scott OK where the older boys, Ed and Melvin were born. The family moved from Scott to a farm in Coweta, Oklahoma when Neva Jo was in her early teens. She graduated from Coweta High School.

She met Pete Miller in Ramona Baptist Church when the family started attending. Pete and Neva Jo were married March 11, 1951. They lived on a farm outside of Ramona and raised a family there. She was a homemaker and worked the farm alongside her husband. Neva Jo was active in the Baptist church and her community. She enjoyed painting and sharing her artwork, quilting, and gardening. She loved showing the different flowers she grew around her house. In later life she was devoted to retelling the history of farm life in the area and collecting antiques from her childhood on the farm.

Survivors include a brother: Jerry White of Marshall, Texas, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete Miller, parents: Wesley and Norma White; sisters: Gladys Paulk, Mildred White, and Ruby Pennel; and brothers: Ed White, Melvin White, and Larry White.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Ramona Cemetery in Ramona, OK with Bro. Lynn Nikkel officiating.
