June B. Sears, age 93 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, at her home.
June Sears was born on January 16, 1922 in Alluwe, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ed Bratcher and Louise (Fink) Bratcher. June grew up in Alluwe, attending the Wyandotte Indian School.
On November 6, 1941, June and Lee Sears were united in marriage in Independence, Kansas. They made their first home in Hogshooter, Oklahoma before moving to Bartlesville.
June was a member of the Delaware War Mothers and she was proud of her Delaware and German ancestry. She was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking and eating fresh foods. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing and doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family. She was very dear to all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee; brother, Pete Bratcher; sisters, Mae Bemis, Lillian Fieldse, Mary Baxter and Carrie Bratcher; and one great-grandson.
Survivors include her children, Wayne D. Sears of Hogshooter, William "Bill" Sears of Talala, Oklahoma, Wiley Sears and his wife, Sande, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Ray Sears and his wife, Marie, of Welling, Oklahoma and Bess Marler and her husband, Virgil, of Hogshooter.; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10, at 10:00 AM at New Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Don Hazelwood will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Oglesby Cemetery (Old Steele Camp Oglesby). The family suggests cool and comfortable clothing be worn by those in attendance.
Pall Bearers include Bryan Sears, Brian Burr, Wiley Sears, Jr., Steven Sears, Eddie Marler and Brandon Marler.
